Natural Remedies For Hypertension

Hypertension, commonly known, as high blood pressure is a chronic condition of elevated blood pressure. Blood pressure can be defined as the pressure exerted by blood against the arteries while circulating. When blood exerts more force for circulation, the pressure level increases resulting in condition of high blood pressure. High blood pressure is a serious health condition that can damage the blood vessels, brain, heart, kidneys or any body part. The risks of strokes, heart failure, brain hamrage, kidney diseases or failure are increased by high blood pressure.

Natural Remedies For Diabetes

It can also be prepared as a dish or the seeds can be powdered and added to food.

- Azadirachta indica (Neem), Basil (Tulsi) and Aegle marmelos (Bael) leaves are also very effective for diabetes. Chew few leaves of all of them or any one of them empty stomach early morning everyday till the blood sugar level is controlled. They can be taken with a glass of water as well. One tablespoon juice of any of these or a mixture of these can also be taken every morning.
- The fruit, seeds and leaves of Jambul (Jamun) work effectively for diabetic. Dry and powder Jamun seeds. Boil one teaspoon of Jamun seeds powder in a cup of water. Filter the solution and drink twice a day. Another remedy is to chew 5-6 Jamun leaves everyday early morning.

- Oats are proved to be beneficial in treating skin allergies. Rubbing frozen oats cubes on affected areas eradicates allergic discomforts. For Oats cubes- Take a bowl of oats and pour hot (boiling) water. Cover the bowl for 10-15 minutes and then filter the concoction. Pour the liquid in ice cube tray and freeze it to form oat cubes.

- Take two cups of distilled water. Add 10 drops of rose oil, one-fourth cup of vodka and half cup of fresh deep red rose petals in it. Mix well and apply on the affected part to cure the allergy.
- Wild chamomile is very beneficial in treating skin allergies. Also known by the name of feverfew,it possesses anti allergic properties. Dry few leaves of Wild chamomile and powder them. Boil one teaspoon of this powder in a cup of water. Filter the solution and drink it once daily. Continue for 3 days to treat the allergy and its effect. This solution can also be applied to treat the allergy. Apply this solution twice daily on the affected area with the help of a cotton swab.
- Mix 5-6 drops of castor oil in plain water or fruit/vegetable juice and drink it empty stomach early morning to cure skin allergy.
- Intake of Fat hen extract is one of the excellent remedies for skin allergies. It provides relief from the discomfort in an hour. It is scientifically known as Chenopodium album. Natural Remedies For Oily Hair

- Blend an egg with two tablespoons of shikakai powder, one tablespoon of green gram powder and half tablespoon of fenugreek seeds powder few minutes before washing your hair. Use this concoction as a shampoo. This not only helps in controlling excess oil but also softens the hair.
- Rinsing hair with flat beer helps in conditioning and removing excess oil.
- Application of witch hazel on the scalp is also a good remedy for oily hair. Apply it on the scalp and wash off after leaving for few minutes.
- Apple Cider Vinegar is proved to be beneficial in treating oily hair. Mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water. Apply this solution on your scalp and hair. Rinse with normal water after few minutes. Repeat it twice week. Lemon juice can also be used in place of vinegar.
- Mix one tablespoon each of mint juice and aloe vera gel with your regular shampoo and use it to rinse your hair with. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then wash off. An excellent remedy for oily hair.
- A mixture of lemon juice and aloe vera juice helps soften the hair and remove excess oil. Mix half tablespoon of aloe vera juice with one tablespoon of lemon juice. Apply this solution on your hair and shampoo with a mild one after leaving for 15-20 minutes.
- Mix Fuller's earth (multani mitti) with water to make a paste. Apply this paste on scalp. Leave for about half an hour and then wash off with warm water.
- In case of urgency when you have to go out and there's less time to work on your oily, greasy hair, baby powder is the best solution. Sprinkle baby powder on your hair lightly. Brush your hair thoroughly from roots till end so that excess powder is brushed out. The powder left in hair will absorb the excess oil.
With these remedies, following precautions are also needed:-
- Shampooing is essential for oily hair type. Shampooing helps in cleaning the dirt and removing the excess oil. Shampooing twice or thrice in a week is of no harm for oily hair. Those with oily hair who work polluted/ dirty environment can also shampoo daily. While choosing a shampoo for oily hair, go for shampoos designed especially for oily hair or with a pH higher than 6.7.
- There is no need of using hair conditioners for oily hair. But if you still wish to use one, then look for a light conditioner or the ones for oily hair type. Try to use it only on the ends as using it on the scalp may worsen the condition.
- Avoid brushing/combing again and again. Frequent grooming where activates the glands to produce more oil (sebum), it also spreads the oil throughout the hair.
- Go for a healthy balanced diet. Avoid oily food as it contributes to more oil (sebum) production. Increase intake of green leafy vegetables and fruits in your diet. Plenty of water is also essential to hydrate and detoxify body.

Massage your hair and scalp with the warm oil. Leave it overnight or for a minimum of two hours. Then wash off with a mild/ herbal shampoo. It regulates the blood circulation, stimulates the oil glands of the scalp ad provides essential nutrients, which helps in treating dry scalp and hair.
- A concoction of lavender oil and coconut oil proves to be very beneficial for dry hair. Mix them together in equal proportion and massage your scalp and hair with it. Leave for couple of hours or let it stay overnight and then wash off with mild shampoo.
- Mix lavender oil with castor oil and heat it little. Massage your scalp with this warm oil. Leave overnight and shampoo the next morning.
- Beer is an excellent conditioner and very effective in treating dry hair. After shampooing, rinse your hair with a little amount of beer in place of conditioner. It provides shine to dull hair besides preventing dryness.
- Apply plain yogurt (curd) on the scalp & hair and massage gently. Leave for about half an hour and then rinse off. It conditions the hair, provides shine,treats dry hair and dandruff.
- Blend one teaspoon of gram flour in a cup of coconut milk. Massage your scalp with this mixture. Leave for 20-30 minutes and then rinse off. Coconut milk can also be obtained by grating raw coconut and squeezing out the milk from it.
- Mash an overripe banana and avocado. Apply this mixture on your hair and leave on for an hour. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
- Egg is beneficial in treating many hair problems.
- For treating dandruff and dry hair- Blend egg yolk, few drops of vinegar and almond oil/ safflower oil together. Apply it on your hair and wrap a wet towel (soaked in warm water). Rinse with warm water after half an hour.
- For dull, damaged and dry hair- Whisk an egg in lukewarm water and apply on your hair and scalp. Gently massage with fingertips to form froth. Leave it for few minutes and then wash off with warm water. This treatment repairs the damage while restoring the shine and conditioning the hair.
- For a natural conditioner- Take a cup of skimmed milk and an egg. Whisk them and massage this solution into your scalp with your fingertips. Rinse your hair thoroughly after leaving for 10-15 minutes. An useful remedy for dry hair.

- Hair care products should be chosen carefully. While choosing shampoo, opt for a mild/gentle one as harsh shampoos damage hair and strip off natural oil,thus leaving your hair more dry. Herbal shampoos are a good option. Incase of conditioners; look for the one that contains little or no alcohol. Avoid over shampooing as well.
- Be gentle to your rough, dry hair. Don't pull your hair while combing, don't brush again and again; avoid excess use of blow dryers and hot rollers.
- Avoid exposure of your hair to sun, dirt and chlorinated water. Wear a hat or scarf when out in sun and don't swim without a cap.
- Trim your split ends after every 3 months. Split ends not only stop the growth of hair but also damage it.
- Oil your hair and massage your scalp as frequently as possible. It is a must for dry hair.
- Have plenty of water and a balanced diet.
